Learn MoreWe are passionate about the environment and aim for 100% sustainability in all of our waste management projects.
We don’t just meet the regulatory and legal requirements but go way beyond to ensure we minimise the impact of waste at every stage of our activities.
Demolition and construction waste is very varied and requires careful handling. It includes: bricks, concrete, tiles, wood, metals, doors, fixtures and fittings, furniture and flooring.
Econ’s Asbestos Waste Station Delivers Waste Management Services to Companies throughout Kent, London and Essex
Our active waste management approach has three elements:
During all of our demolition and construction projects all waste materials are carefully segregated and stored for recycling and reuse. Wherever possible, we salvage items for future use in other projects. Where a project requires new construction we look to reuse waste from the demolition phase to minimise cost and reduce the carbon footprint of the scheme.
With an outstanding network of reclamation specialists across the UK we are able to salvage a large proportion of items arising from a demolition. Doors, furniture, flooring and windows can be collected and reused or sold on for renovation. When working on period properties our teams have a keen eye for what can be rescued and sold on to provide valuable income for the customer and a useful second life for an attractive item - as interior designers have realised there are some ‘hidden gems’ to be found in buildings that have reached the end of their original life.
Econ have been early pioneers of recycling construction and demolition waste. Our complete, on –site mobile system processes rubble, concrete, asphalt and stone to produce an excellent final product that is used for groundwork levelling, piling mats or as a sub base for construction.
The use of site-won material not only leads to major reductions in lorry movements, but also significantly reduces the environmental damage and overall carbon footprint of the project.
We also have our own waste management centre at our Kent headquarters’ site where we recycle waste arising from smaller projects.
