Asbestos Removal & Demolition
Econ were contracted to carry out the asbestos removal and demolition of Warwick School in two phases. This project involved a lot of “cut and carve” as the main school remained operational whilst the new school was built.
We remove the asbestos materials with some work being carried out with our confined space trained staff with their rescue team.
The soft strip of the buildings was completed.
Following that, the temporary works were designed and installed to enable the hand demolition of the cut lines.
On completion of the cut lines, the buildings were demolished and temporary weather protection installed for the remainder of phase 1 whilst the new building was constructed.
We crushed all the granular arisings to a 6F2 specification which was stockpiled on site, and used by Kier for the construction phase of the works.
"We found Econ to be talented and professional. We recently employed them to undertake some regeneration work to help us prepare for the building of our new Queen Elizabeth II Centre. Our experience of working with them was excellent. They were conscientious and efficient when working to a tight deadline and we have no hesitation recommending them for other projects."
