Decommissioning of Redundant Electrical Sub-Station
4 Weeks
Econ were contracted to remove asbestos and demolish a redundant UKPN sub-station. The site covered over 4000 m2
Works involved removing all the asbestos from the switchgear, removing and disposing of the redundant plant, cable and concrete structures.
Works were completed within the required programme with no accidents or incidents.
Staff undertook site specific inductions and all staff were Asbestos and Demolition trained. All machine operators held CPCS qualifications.. Econ’s team included staff who met the following requirements: CCDO, CCDO Burning Operatives and IPAF Operatives
25t 360 Excavator, Articulated Booms, Oxy/Propane Cutting Equipment, Recipriocating Saws, Low Loaders, Skip Lorries, Ekki Mats for Protection of remaining assets and telehandler.
In short, the service received by yourselves has been faultless in terms of works carried out for London Bridge DU. The response times in emails as well as getting to site to do the works is very efficient, and should there be any issues, the communication from all at Econ who I’ve dealt with has been professional. Thank you,
