Asbestos Removal & Demolition
Econ were contracted to carry out the asbestos removal and demolition of Priestmead School in Harrow.
The site comprised of two and three storey 1930’s concrete framed buildings.
The works commenced after the new school was built and the pupils were decanted from the school.
Shortly after commencement in February 2020 we had to introduce measures to conform to the new government COVID 19 procedures.
We successfully managed this on site and introduced audits and procedures which were then used on all of our sites going forward.
The project at peak had over 20 operatives working on the site with support in the demolition phase of 2 x 14tonne excavators, 3 x 21 tonne excavators. We removed over 80,000 tonnes of hardcore from the site in the space of 6 working days.
Due to the new school already being constructed, all materials were taken off site for recycling.
These were highly commended by our client and the works were completed on time and on budget.
"Also evident was the pride the staff have in what they do and the care they take to work safely at all times and offer the best service possible to their clients"
