Dismantling of existing cycle footbridge
1 x 12 hour possession
Econ was contracted on behalf of Network Rail for the dismantling of the ramp section and main span of the existing cycle footbridge in close proximity to Feltham railway station.
The works consisted of careful planning to ensure it was carried out during a 12 hour possession of the track, using a Kirow rail mounted crane to assist dismantling of the footbridge, which was over 30 meters in length and weighing 25 tonnes. The main span was lifted into a laydown area and was then cut into 10 meter sections, using oxy propane cutting equipment so it could be transported to another location using articulated flatbed vehicles. The sections were then lifted off the transport using a 60 tonne mobile crane and stored in the Network Rail yard.
2 x Demolition managers, 2 x Demolition managers, 2 x hot cutting operatives, 6 x demolition operatives. Econ’s team included staff who met the following requirements: CCDO certification, PTS certification, Safety in gas cutting and CPCS D90 certification (demolition plant).
1 x rail mounted kirow crane, 1 x 60 tonne mobile crane, 4 x articulated flatbed vehicles, 1 x roll on off vehicle and 1 x 20 tonne demolition excavator.
In short, the service received by yourselves has been faultless in terms of works carried out for London Bridge DU. The response times in emails as well as getting to site to do the works is very efficient, and should there be any issues, the communication from all at Econ who I’ve dealt with has been professional. Thank you,
